Chuck's BIO

Chuck has been a boat model builder since the age of four, when he fashioned boats out of plasticene. He seriously began his collection several years later, making historical models from kits, and then gradually working on models of the Segwun, Sagamo, and Ahmic. He has always been fond of the Muskoka boats, and now makes over 30 different models of these historic boats.

Chuck's scale is 1:60, or in other words, 1 inch= 5 feet. All models that Chuck builds are of the same scale, so they all look fantastic when displayed with each other.

In 2010, five models of the Segwun were purchased by the G8 Summit office. The participants were treated to a trip on the Segwun and the Wenonah II in Gravenhurst. Following this, the boats were presented to the five senior speakers at the Youth Summit as a lasting memento to mark this special occasion.

Chuck has been written up in local newspapers, interviewed on both English and French radio stations, and interviewed on CTV national news. Chuck's models have been part of the office of Lieutenant Governor James Bartleman when he held that position at Queen's Park. Other models are currently on display in Grace and Speed in Gravenhurst. Chuck has also been invited to display his masterpieces in a similar display in Huntsville in 2011.

Please contact Chuck at his home or his office, via phone or email (see home page). He is more than happy to share with you his knowledge of boats, Muskoka and other related topics. He can also give you much more information on  the more than 30 different boats that he builds, to help you pick the perfect ones for your collection.
