Rates + Tuition Policy

Rates for 2017 are:

30 minute Lesson:        $33
30 minute Lesson
(Senior Teacher):    $38.50

45 and 60 minute lessons are also available.


Tuition Policy 2017


- Tuition is charged by the Queensland state school term

- Each term is billed, and must be paid, in advance. You may pay your account in

installments throughout the term but all accounts must be finalised by the last

day of each term.

- Payment methods accepted: cash, cheque, direct deposit

- One lesson per term may be rescheduled due to illness or school/other

extracurricular activities. One week’s notice is required for planned absences

(eg school camps, specialist appointments, etc). For absence in the case of

illness please give as much notice as is possible. Any additional rescheduling of

lessons due to exceptional circumstances will be at the teacher’s discretion.

- All rescheduled lessons must be taken during the same term - no credits will be

applied to subsequent terms. In the case of teacher absence credit will be given

if a lesson cannot be rescheduled.


Three streams of piano tuition are offered:


1) Professional stream. The practical, technical, theoretical and aural training in

this stream is comprehensive and students will be expected to participate in

exams, concerts and competitions. Repertoire taught will cover all the major

periods of music history. Practice commitment: 5-7 days per week of 20-120

minutes (depending on age).


2) Semi-professional stream. The practical training in this steam is

comprehensive but technical, theoretical and aural training is taught according

to a student’s interests. Repertoire choice will generally be dictated by the

student. Students will be expected to participate in exams, concerts and some

competitions. Practice commitment: 3-7 days per week of 15-60 minutes

(depending on age).


3) Piano for Enjoyment. The practical, technical, theoretical and aural training

are all taught according to a student’s interests and musical tastes. Practice

commitment: 3-7 days per week of 10-60 minutes (depending on age).
