 Sound Recording Workshop
-Rob Heaney

Rob Heaney is a sound engineer who has worked with many top musicians in the Montreal area, including a recent contract with a soon to be released Cirque de Soleil soundtrack. In this workshop, he will discuss recording equipment, setup, and sound mixing for music educators.

School Musicals Workshop
-Frank White

A very experienced director of musicals, Frank White will share his wisdom of the "do's and don'ts" of leading a school musical!

Music Therapy Conference
-Dr. Sandi Curtis

Currently director of Concordia University's new Music Therapy program, Dr. Curtis has over 25 years experience as a music therapist. In this conference, she will discuss how music affects the mind through experience and
music education.

QBA Beginner Band - Call for Volunteers!

The QBA Beginner Band, held at Vanier CEGEP in Montreal, needs volunteers! Volunteers are assigned different duties including registration table, band section supervisor, assistant to the conductor and various other duties. It is a great way to be involved in Music Ed in the Montreal community and to meet local students and band teachers.

Anne Hamilton, a seasoned high school choral director and founder of the Vermont MIDI project, will host a three hour workshop to discuss ways of integrating music technology in the classroom, and ways of using it to network with musicians, composers, and other schools anywhere around the world.

Teaching Rhythm and Music Phrasing on the Body

How do you teach music without instruments? Use your own! This energetic and rhythmically challenging workshop will amaze its participants with new ways to engage students in music class. Body percussion methodology has the potential to teach students complex rhythms by literally letting them feel the music in many different ways, including dance!
