The Riceworld Museum and Learning Center showcases the vast knowledge related to rice.  The museum is the educational site of IRRI, the International Rice Research Institute. The exhibits highlight the history of rice, the science behind rice production, the many uses of the rice plant, and the cultures that center on this most important crop, including the Philippines.  The Ifugao merits special mention as an ethnic group whose culture and religion are closely linked with rice.  They built the  Banaue Rice Terraces 2,000 years ago.

Trivia:  There are 110,000 varieties of rice from all over the world.  Rice is the staple food of more than half of the world's population.
