TODAY WE STARTED CLASS BY DOING #14 ON YESTERDAY'S PRACTICE EXAM, WE CORRECTED THIS AND THEN #s 1-10.

STUDENTS THEN WORKED ON THE REST OF THE PRACTICE EXAM IN CLASS!

GOOD LUCK ON EXAMS NEXT WEEK...

Today students finished the practice C1 "Battle of the Bands" that we started yesterday in class.

Homework tonight is to do #s 1 to 10 on practice exam #3 that was handed out in class today!

Practice C1 started in class today, finding the number of people of each VENUE is to be finished for homework!

We will finish the C1 in class tomorrow.

Bell work is below, PERCENT & PROPORTION.

Next we corrected #s 1 to 10, looked at the common errors and discussed the more challenging questions.

Students worked on the application questions from the practice exam, 3 word problems are due for tomorrow.

Once done we corrected the 3 questions and then reviewed the practice exam from yesterday.

Homework tonight is 6 multiple choice from workbook pages 224 + 225 + 226.

Today we started class by finishing the PROBABILITY OF A BLUE MARBLE question from yesterday. This focused on calculating the probability of various outcomes involving a BLUE marble on the first or second draw in a compound random experiment.

Next we reviewed the important probability terms from yesterday, we used slide 47 for this discussion:

- compatible
- incompatible
- certain
- impossible
- complementary

Homework tonight is workbook pages 181 + 182, students should also be working on their memory aid for end of year exams... only 12 more school days until exam begin!

Today we start class with the 'Lost my marbles' slide from the powerpoint.

Students worked on this for 5-10 minutes, then we discussed and corrected it. Question #5 will be done at the start of class tomorrow!

Today 's lesson covered slides 36 to 45, lots of notes today and new probability terms to understand.

Homework is workbook pages 179 + 180!

Today we started class with 2 math puzzles that took about 10 minutes.

Next we corrected homework, workbook page 211.

Today's lesson covered slides 35+36, replacement and non-replacement in COMPOUND RANDOM EXPERIMENTS, we created trees to look at the options and then compared the 2 new concepts.

Homework is to do probability quiz corrections and workbook page 178!

Today we start class with a PROBABILITY quiz.

Once done students worked on page 211, to be finished for homework tonight.

Today's PROBABILITY lesson covered slides 28 to 34, we talked about REPLACEMENT of items in random experiments.

Today is a work session math class, students are working on their first practice exam.

Workbook pages 203 to 210 are to be finished for Thursday's math class. Groups 812 & 815 miss math tomorrow for the carnival so that's why it's due for Thursday!!!

Monday, May 13, 2019

Today we start class with a PROBABILITY bell work where students are were creating simple and compound random experiments. They had to test out their experiments and write the OMEGA for each. Slide 25 in the PowerPoint!

Next we did a license plate question that focused on using the multiplication rule to count the number of possible outcomes. Slide 25 in the PowerPoint.

The last 15 minutes of class students worked on workbook page 177, to be finished for homework!

Today we covered slides 11 to 21, lots of discussion and examples of simple and compound random experiments demonstrations. Homework is to finish workbook page 175 + 176.

Today we start PROBABILITY, we covered slides 1-10 in class and then students worked on workbook page 175 #s 1 to 4, to be finished for homework if not finished in class!

We corrected homework, pages 166 + 167.

Today's lesson focussed on SIMILAR FIGURES, the properties of and how to determine if figures are similar.

Homework is workbook pages 168 + 169.

Today we start class by doing workbook page 166 to ensure the steps to construct a DILATATION are understood.

Our lesson today focuses on how to find the center of similarity if it is not given and how to find the RATIO of SIMILARITY if it is not given. Slide 15 was the only slide discussed today in class.

Workbook pages 166 & 167 are homework if not finished in class!

Today we start class by writing the notes on slide 9 and talking about the steps we take to create an accurate DILATATION and HOW TO SHOW THE WORK [refer to slide 10 or 11 or 12 to see examples.

We covered slides 9 to 14, students wrote the notes from slides 13 & 14 in their notes or on their memory aids.

Last 15 minutes students worked on workbook pages 164 +165, to be finished for homework if not finished in class!

Today we started class by doing #s 2+3+4 in the RATE CONVERSION.

These were corrected and discussed.

Today we start class with a lateral surface area bell work, below in first picture.

Once done correcting the bell work we reviewed TIME skills and practiced converting, pictures 2 -3 below, we discussed time and then students completed the questions and we corrected the questions.

Today we started class with a cylinder prism bell work "VASE" question:

A vase in the shape of a cylinder is put in a box that is a rectangular prism. The bases of the vase touch the bases of the box and the lateral surface of the vase is adjacent to each of the sides of the box.

What is the total area of the box if the vase has a **radius of 5 cm** and **a total area of 1 020.5 cm ^{2}?**

Once done and corrected we talked about DECOMPOSABLE SOLIDS, students then worked on workbook page .
