Dr. Mudassar Raza is currently a Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Namal University Mianwali, Pakistan. He has an overall job experience (teaching + research) of more than 20 years at both graduate and undergraduate levels. Previously, he served as Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Lecturer, and Research Associate positions at HITEC University Taxila-Pakistan and COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus (CUI Wah) for more than 18 years. He did his Ph.D. in control science and engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, Anhui, Hefei, China (USTC), during which he remained a very active research member of fields related to Visual Robotics, Computer Vision, and Pattern Recognition. He has more than 135 research publications in journals and conferences of international repute with a cumulative impact factor of 215+, more than 5398+ citations, H-index: 41, and i10-index 90. He was honored with the “National Youth Award 2008” in the “Computer Science and Information Technology” category by the Prime Minister of Pakistan on International Youth Day, 12 August 2008. His areas of interest are image processing, deep learning, algorithm analysis, artificial intelligence, and parallel programming. He has so far supervised and co-supervised over 52 MS. He has supervised 3 PhD students and is currently Co-supervising 6 PhD students. He has also supervised more than 100 R&D projects of undergraduate students. He has continuously been nominated for the COMSATS Research Productivity Award for many years. He is an IEEE Senior member and a member of IEEE Young Professionals, IEEE Computer Society, IEEE Biometrics Council, and IEEE Systems Council. He has also performed the duty of PhD thesis as an internal and external (international) evaluator. He is an academic editor and reviewer of several prestigious journals, conferences, and books. He is also regularly invited by top universities and institutes of Pakistan as a guest speaker at symposiums, workshops, and conferences.  Besides his research and R&D activities, he has vast experience handling academic issues and problems. He also remained active in handling the administrative tasks and completed them successfully. Currently, he is fulfilling several academic and administrative tasks along with his teaching and research, including Member CUI Wah Campus Departmental Quality Assurance Committee for Assessment of Online Courses - Phase II (Spring 2020), Member NCEAC online coordination committee, Domain Head (Logic Development & Programming, Web and mobile computing), Member/Secretary Admission Committee, CS department industry liaison focal person, Member department Industry Advisory Board, Member Image Processing Research Group, to name a few. He is also a member of the documentation committee for BS(AI), MS(AI), and BS(ITS) accreditation and curriculum design. He is also a member of the National Standards Committee (NSC), the Ministry of Science and Technology, GoP, Department focal person internships, HEC level 1 trainer for online teaching, and Member of curriculum development and curriculum committees at HITEC University Taxila.
