Recent Announcements

  • Tickets for Once On This Island
    Please read the following information carefully. We are once again selling tickets for the musical online and at the box office. We have posted a detailed sheet with information for parents. Here are some IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS you need to know:
    *All tickets are reserved. There are NO general admission tickets.
    *Tickets: Adults $10 / Students/Seniors $8
    *Box Office opens Monday, February 25 from 6:30-8:00PM. (cash or checks only)This is your chance to get first pick of tickets BEFORE online sales open. The box office will be open each Monday from 6:30-8:00PM beginning Feb. 25.
    *Online tickets sales will open on Monday, February 26 at 9:00PM. Go to the MTPA webpage ( for the ticket link. The online box office is in real time. You will pick your exact seats, purchase them and print them on your home printer. (credit card only)
    *The online ticket company we use has completely revised their website. The purchase process is different. If you have any issues please contact the Wagners.
    *MTPA members are required to sell at least 4 tickets and purchase one pin for each production.   The online system does not allow for us to "credit" sales to individuals.  Each MTPA member must fill out the online form  to receive credit for selling tickets.
    *Students not running the show who worked on stage crew or costume crew may have one complimentary ticket to see the show. Please see your advisor for a coupon that can be exchanged at the box office.

  • Ushers Needed!
    We need a crew of ushers for "Once On This Island."  Ushers need to report at 6:00PM on Thursday, March 14, and at 6:15PM on Friday, March 15 and  Saturday, March 16. If you usher all three shows and attend an entire strike session on Monday, March 18 from 2:45-5:15PM or 6:00-8:30PM you can earn your MTPA crew credit.  We also need two people who can be at all three performances to act as house managers.  If you would like to usher please fill out this form by Tuesday, February 26.  It would be helpful if all ushers could work all three shows. We will post the usher list by Monday, March 4.  Ushers are asked to dress up for each show. This means dress pants and shirt and tie for the gentleman and a nice dress or dress pants and dressy top for the ladies.

    Once On This Island t-shirts are here! Please pick up your shirt in Mr. Wagner’s room (140). We do have a few extra available on a first come, first served basis. Shirts are $8. T-shirt days are every Friday!

  • MTPA Spring Musical Social

    Hello MTPA, 

    It’s time for our spring musical social! Join us for an evening of games, food, and fun on Monday February 25th from 5:00-6:15. Tropical attire is not required, but highly recommended.   • Parent and Student Help Needed for Publicity Crew
    The publicity crew helps with the distribution of posters and fliers and also makes pins. The publicity crew is crucial in helping us fill the auditorium for every performance. Publicity crew will meet in room 140 on Monday, February 4 from 6:30-8:30PM, Monday, February 11 from 6:30-8:30PM, and Monday, February 18 from 6:30-8:00PM. Students, if interested, just show up on February 4th! Parents: we need 3 or 4 parents each night. Click here  to sign up. Thanks!

  • Lighting Crew
    MTPA is looking for several capable and dependable students to serve on the lighting crew for our upcoming production of Once On This Island. Due to the complex lighting demands of this show, these positions are of critical importance. If you are interested in serving on the lighting crew, you must pick up information in room 140 or download it here as soon as possible. The completed form must be returned to Mr. Wagner no later than Thursday, February 14.

  • Makeup Crew
    It is time to form the makeup crew for Once On This Island. If you are able to attend *ALL* scheduled meetings (CHECK YOUR CALENDARS!) please download the signup sheet and return it to Mr. Wagner by Thursday, February 21.  Make-up crew will be posted on the bulletin board by Monday, February 25. The call times are approximate. You will be given an exact time schedule at our first meeting.  The makeup crew is vital to the success of your production-- we need you to get involved!

  • Parking, Drop off, and Pickup Changes for All MTPA Rehearsals

    As you are aware we can no longer use the band lot, the car loop, or door C6 for rehearsals. Please follow these guidelines for ALL MTPA rehearsals and crew meetings:


    If arriving before 7:30PM you must enter at the main entrance.

    If arriving after 7:30PM you will need to enter at the auditorium doors on the main entrance side of the building. Cast, if no one is there to let you in please text the Wagners. Other crews please find out who your staff member wants you to contact.


    Please exit the building through the auditorium doors (main entrance side of the building) and NOT the main entrance. This is important so that we know all students have been safely picked up at the end of rehearsals.

    Cast - The rehearsal schedule packet has been posted. You can download it here. There are also copies in Mr. Wagner’s room. It is very detailed and can seem overwhelming. Please read the packet carefully. If you have questions after reading it please ask.

    We have put together a tentative tech schedule for both the play and the musical. It can be downloaded here. If you are interested in being on running crew, lighting crew, or sound crew for either show please download this page and put the dates on your calendar right away! Crew members need to be at all tech rehearsals!

Schedule Changes/Revisions

CAST: All evening rehearsals will now begin at 6PM instead of 6:30PM. We are doing this to help us try to catch up with missed rehearsals.

Feb. 16: 9AM- 2PM - Extra rehearsal due to snow days - please bring a lunch

Feb. 20: 6:00-9:00PM - Principals ONLY (this is no longer a full cast rehearsal)
Feb. 21: 6:00-9:00PM- FULL CAST - please note the change in time and who is called.

We would like photos from both the fall play and musical. These can be production pictures AND/OR candid shots. We would love to have a lot of fun pictures for the banquet at the end of the year. You can upload photos using this link:

You do not need a password to upload photos. However after you upload your photos and click ”I'm done uploading“ the next screen will ask for a password to view the album. You won’t be able to go farther as we have password protected the album so that it is not open to the world. Have no fear your pictures were uploaded if you used the above link!

Join MTPA!

If you would like to join MTPA please fill out this online form. By filling out this form you will be added to the MTPA database. EVERYONE must fill out this form even if you have been a member of MTPA in the past.  As a member of MTPA you will be expected to support the organization through your participation in productions and activities throughout the year. MTPA membership requirements are:

Sell 4 tickets for both shows
Buy a pin ($1) for both shows
Participate in a crew or cast for at least one show,including strike (theatrical lingo for taking down the set and cleaning everything up)

NOTE: All students who are in the cast, pit orchestra, stage crew, or costume crew are included in the MTSD Activity Fee Policy. Information about this policy can be found on the district website. Please note, MTSD administration has stated that the play and the musical count as two separate activities. Please return ALL forms to Mr. Wagner in room 140 so that we can keep accurate MTPA records. Please do not pay the fee until you have been directed to do so by your MTPA advisor! Thank you!
