Maryland Summer Centers for Gifted and Talented Students

The Maryland State Department of Education recently announced the schedule of upcoming Maryland Summer Centers for Gifted and Talented Students.  Programs are available for students entering grades 3 through 12.  Centers are located throughout the state and offer one- or two-week residential and non-residential programs with a focus on performing arts, science, mathematics, environmental science, technology, computer science, creating writing, world languages and culture, engineering, and physics.  Tuition ranges from $200-$1200, and assistance is available.

There is a print version of the brochure available in the Gifted and Talented classroom (109) and in Student Services.  The application deadline is April 15.

Information Night! Snow Date - 1/6/14

The Gifted and Talented Research Program Information Night, originally scheduled for Monday, December 9th, has been rescheduled to Monday, January 6th.  If you would like to learn more about the GT research courses - Independent Research and Intern/Mentor - please plan to attend.  Additional information can be found at www.MtHebronGT.com.  If you have any questions, please email Dr. Melissa Kiehl - mkiehl@hcpss.org.

Applications for Independent Research and Intern/Mentor

Applications for Independent Research GT and Intern/Mentor GT will be available starting December 1st under the "Mt. Hebron G/T Program Documents" link.  They are also available in the Media Center.  The deadline is January 31st.

Please be sure to include the student's full name, and grade level if you know it.

College Letter about the G/T Program

In the past, a letter was sent out with the transcript of every current and former G/T Research Program student that provided an overview of the program.  Now, that letter is part of the School Profile that is sent from Student Services.  If you would like to send the letter, individually, with your application materials, it is attached here.
