  • Current Stored Equipment The following are pictures of MBARC-owned equipment currently being stored courtesy of Brian K1BJ.  As discussed over the last couple meetings we will be making decisions regarding its disposition this spring and summer.  Please look over these pictures and share your thoughts at future general club meetings. As a reminder, we will ask for volunteers to help sort through this material in an effort to assure we make the best use of it.  Click on an image for a larger version.

  • FCC Listening Post From WB7FCH:While researching 10 meter beacons I came across an interesting set of coordinates.Bring up google.comSelect 'Maps'Paste these numbers into the search box: N48.955667 W122.554889Turn on 'Satellite' view and zoom in close. You should see an arrow pointing to the center of what looks like a crop circle. It is not. This is the location of one of only twelve FCC monitoring facilities, nation wide. This one is listed as being in Ferndale, WA ... although Custer is more accurate. It seems that amateur radio transmissions are not allowed within 1 mile of this location. Looking at the roads in the area it makes me wonder about using our mobile rigs when traveling ...

The Mount Baker Amateur Radio Club is a local ham radio club for Bellingham and Whatcom County, Washington. Membership is open to all licensed amateur radio operators, and visitors are always welcome, even if you do not yet have your license. Please join us!

To better serve a diverse community, our group has been separated into three subgroups. Each subsidiary has its own bylaws, budget, and dues. You do not need to be a member of all the subgroups, although if you are a regular attender you are encouraged to join.

MBARC Main Group

This is the parent group, interested in connecting with fellow amateur radio operators, learning more about the craft, and learning about opportunities to serve in the community.  Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month (except July and August) at 7pm at the Tillicum House in Pioneer Park, Ferndale.
Membership dues: $25 annually.

Repeater Group

(main site) MBARC maintains several repeaters on behalf of and for use by the general amateur community.  If you are a regular user of the repeaters then we appreciate the membership dues received that keep them running.  This group does not hold general meetings.
Membership dues: $25 annually

Digital Group

(main site) This is a more informal group focusing on digital modes.  Often a show-and-tell, subjects discussed may include APRS, FLDIGI, Arduino, and recent eBay purchases.  Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month (except July and August) at 7pm at the Ferndale Library.
Membership dues: $10 annually
