Founded in 1959, the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) is a nonprofit music-education organization whose central purpose is to promote excellence in choral music through performance, composition, publication, research, and teaching. In addition, ACDA strives through arts advocacy to elevate choral music's position in American society.
NAfME, among the world's largest arts education organizations, marked its centennial in 2007 as the only association that addresses all aspects of music education. Through membership of more than 75,000 active, retired, and preservice music teachers, and with 60,000 honor students and supporters, NAfME serves millions of students nationwide through activities at all teaching levels, from preschool to graduate school.

The North-Corps is the second of the two new Open Class drum corps that we are creating for the 2012 season. This is part of a concentrated effort to provide drum corps to more young people in more Northwest communities. While the Cascades Drum Corps provide a great experience, travelling 13,000 miles in six weeks of competition; the expense, rigors, and age requirements limit members to a select group of musicians and performers.
Founded in the fall of 1958, the Cascades is the oldest nationally touring world-class drum and bugle corps in the Pacific Northwest. Members of the Cascades come from throughout Washington, Idaho and Oregon in addition to other western states, Canada, Japan and Europe.
