  About your Teacher

Greetings, class !! My name is Ms. Lily Shih, and I prefer to be
called 施老師 (Shī lǎoshī). I would like to welcome you to my Mandarin Chinese class in this 2014-2015 academic year.
I recently graduated from California State University with
a Single Subject Credential in Mandarin Chinese. I have been
teaching Mandarin for more than five years to K-12 students.
I am also a Star Talk Mandarin Immersion teacher. I am
extremely excited and looking forward to explore the Chinese
culture and language with you.

Why Chinese?

As of 2012, about 955 million people speak Mandarin Chinese, which is about 14 % of the world's population. Chinese program is the fastest growing foreign language program in US school.  Learning to speak Mandarin Chinese is a great way to give yourself an advantage in the increasingly competitive business world. A gift of language is an investment that will last a lifetime.
