  • Grade 9 Farewell Grade 9 students are reminded to hand in their Farewell Dinner and Dance Payments to Ms. Pawluk or Mrs. Gray at the end of May. This year Grade 9 Farewell is on June 20 at 6:00pm-10:00pm at The Four Points Sheraton on Pembina Hwy. Staff will be taking photos throughout the evening and make them available to students when report cards are distributed.

Grade 9 Foods and Nutrition Homework

    The lesson will be on The 6 Major Nutrients as we look at the main 6 and how they are broken down. As mentioned last class, the recipe has changed from the outline and the lab will be Tortellini Soup and Garlic Bread.

Family Studies Homework Assignments

  • Communication Unit
    We started the unit with some activities on Communication followed by a look at the Communication Process Model. Students will complete notes and activities which teach the barriers to communication,  how we can improve our communications skills and the difference between Destructive and Constructive Conflict Resolution. The unit will wrap up with a video and a discussion of bullying and harassment with a focus on cyber bullying and a unit test.

  • BTIO
    The first unit in Family Studies is the introduction to the Baby Think It Over (BTIO) program. Students will have the opportunity to read about how the baby's work as well as practice in class to ensure they know what to do if they choose to take the baby home. In addition, students will write tree quizzes in the unit. If students along with their parents decide they do not want to take the baby home for a weekend, they will do the alternative written assignment. Both the BTIO assignment and the alternative assignments can be found under the Family Studies link on the side bar. The first weekend the babies will be available to sign out is Sept. 25-28, 2015.
