The Art of Persuasion (Julius Caesar)

This unit will continue our look at the tragedy as we look at one of Shakespeare's greatest plays, Julius Caesar.  A dramatization of real events that
transpired around 44BC, this play focuses its attention not on Caesar, but on the downfall of Brutus, the alleged ringleader in the assassination of Caesar.  Studying this play will not only allow us to illuminate 44BC's events in the eyes of Shakespeare, but it will provide lessons about the art of persuasion and rhetoric, a field of study to which the late, great Aristotle devoted much attention.
