  • Week of October 16th -20th

    Literacy:  –“How do machines help people work? “  

    Main Reading Selection: “Dig, dig, digging”

    Amazing words: scooping, swooshing, squelching, gobbling, spinning, rumbling

    Sight words: a, to, I, am, the, little,can,and,big,up

    Letter recognition/phonics/handwriting: Tt

    Introduce – Nouns for places and things

    Math: Writing Numbers and counting sets 6-10.  Introduce more and fewer, longer and shorter and combinations to 10
    Religion: The Church Year
    Art/Social Studies/Science:Spiders

    Literacy:  – What do you like to do with your friends?

    Main Reading Selection: “Smash Crash “

    Letter recognition/phonics/handwriting: Mm

    Introduce – Nouns for people and animals

    Math: 3D Shapes ,Writing Numbers and counting sets 6-10.  Introduce more and fewer, longer and shorter and combinations to 10 .

    Religion: God made all the animals.

    Art/Science/Social Studies:Life Cycle of a pumpkin

    Recognize the setting of a story

    Math: Writing Numbers 1-5, 2D shapes

    Religion: God gave made the sun and moon.

    Art/Science/Social Studies: Apples – Science experiments – Do apples float or sink?

    Do apple seeds float or sink?  Can you build a tower that can hold an apple on top? How high can you make it?
