Journal Club is a group that gathers to read and discuss articles from a wide array of medical journals during lunch. The topics are chosen by the facilitator and meant to be topics that are of particular interest to her/him.
Can I still come if I haven't read the article?
Of course! Each session begins with a quick summary of the article to ensure that everyone is on the same page. From there, the facilitator will ask questions pertaining to the topic of the article.
Who can lead a journal club?
Anyone is welcome! Students from all years are encouraged to participate, as are faculty and staff members.
How do I get a hold of the articles?
I, Megan, will be e-mailing the articles out to each class and will provide hard copies in my mailbox each week.
What is the difference between Global Health Journal Club and WHIG-sponsored Journal Club?
The only difference is in the topic. Journal articles that are WHIG sponsored will be about women's health and/or gender and sexuality. Global health journal articles will be on topics that fall under the umbrella of global health.
