  • Homework Expectations & Test Corrections
    Refresher on Homework Expectations:
Due to the quality of homework that I have received so far this year and in efforts to understand what concepts students are missing, I will now be grading each homework assignment completely. The Core problems are still worth about 80% of that homework grade and either More or Soar makes up the additional 20%. You will still receive extra credit for correct Soar problems if you complete all three sections of the homework.

As outlined in my syllabus, all homework should have the following universal header in the top right corner of the page
    First and Last Name
    Class (Period __)
    Lesson Number

Homework and Tests should not be done in pen!

All work needs to be shown on the homework (when applicable), I will not be grading homework that is not properly labeled, does not show work, or is done in pen. Students are always able to correct homework for a better grade, students should do this on a separate sheet of paper and staple it to the original homework assignment when they return it. In order to correct homework, students need to show the work to correctly solve the problem and justify their steps.

    Test Corrections:
The math department has now aligned our policy on test corrections. All students are able to complete corrections within 1 week of getting the test back. Corrections will go in Infinite Campus as 10 points extra credit in the homework section. Test corrections can only be done during a study hall or extended day, or lunch by appointment. At the end of the quarter all students have the opportunity to retake one test, in order to retake a test, you must do corrections on that test.

Test corrections should be done on a separate sheet of paper and should include:
    • Correct work for the problem, accompanied by the steps
    • 1-2 sentences on where you went wrong the first time and what you did to fix it

Homework Assignments
All homework must be clearly labeled with the lesson number, your name, your class period, and the date. I will not grade homework if it is not properly labeled or if it is completed in pen. Students are able to do corrections on all homework turned in on time for full points back!
