Counseling Services:
Students, teachers, and parents may request counseling for any child.  Counseling is confidential, short-term, and geared toward problem solving rather than therapeutic support. Students who need to be seen on an ongoing basis will benefit more from a community counselor.  I connect families with referrals to community resources.  To learn more about what school counselors do, please click here.

I use a variety of age-appropriate counseling techniques such as play therapy.  Play therapy is helpful for younger children who may lack the communication skills to talk about what's bothering them.  Play is the natural language of children.  To view a short video about play therapy, click here.

About Me:

I'm a graduate from UNC-Charlotte with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling.  This is my 4th year at CWECC, but my 13th year as a school counselor.  I am a National Certified Counselor and am a National Board Certified Teacher in the area of school counseling.  I have worked with students at the early childhood, elementary, and middle school levels. I like to make learning fun while encouraging each student to always try his/her best.
