My compositions include acoustic and electronic works, as well as music for western and Korean instruments.  Inspired by a broad range of cultural influences--from Japanese myths to contemporary installation art--my works combine highly syncopated counterpoint with rhythmically-charged lyricism.

Currently I am composing a new work, Sarangbang, for solo kayagŭm (12-string Korean zither).  It will be premiered by Najung Jin at Seoul Art Space, May 31-June 3, in Seoul.

During upcoming residencies at Yaddo and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts (spring 2012), I will compose a new string quartet for the fearless JACK Quartet
