Special Education: What is it?
Special classes at Jesup are student centered programs that provide help for students to attain a level of achievement in all facets which include: academic, social, and physical potential. The processes include identification and assessment of special needs, developmental counseling, and individual instruction. Individualized instruction involving the modification of material and teaching strategies in the areas of language arts, mathematics, social studies, science, vocational, and daily living skills. The programs provide a series of successful experiences in the areas of need that promote the growth of a more positive and realistic self concept and thereby allow the development of individual's personality and character to its fullest extent.
