Meet the Teacher!

Hi, I am Maria Youngblut and am currently teaching second grade at Jesup Community School. This is my 9th year at Jesup and it has gone by fast! I am excited to be teaching second grade again and I look forward to a wonderful year.

Before coming to Jesup, I did my student teaching in San Antonio, TX in second and fourth grade. After teaching second grade in San Antonio for a year I moved back to Iowa in June of 2000. Then, I received a fourth grade teaching job in Belle Plaine, IA. I stayed in Belle Plaine for two years teaching one year of fourth grade and one year of second grade. In July 2002, I received a job in Jesup teaching fifth grade. I have been teaching in the Jesup School District since 2002.
I am grew up in Winthrop, IA and graduated from East Buchanan High School. I attended North Iowa Area Community College for two years then transfered to University of Northern Iowa. I graduated from UNI in December 1999 with a B.A. Degree in Elementary Education. In December 2005, I received my masters degree in elementary education from UNI.
I have a three year old daughter, Peyton, and a ten month old son Tate. I enjoy spending time with my family, running, camping,
and the outdoors. I am lucky to have my family close and live in a wonderful community!
