Below you will find a little about me:
I was born on July 26th, 1979, not far from Jesup in Independence, Iowa. I was raised on an acreage just north of Winthrop and attended East Buchanan CSD from Kindergarten to 12th grade, graduating in 1998. During high school I participated in several sports and clubs and feel extracurricular activities are a very important part of education. Following high school I attended Wartburg College where I majored in American and world history and secondary education. I also played four years of football at Wartburg and my class graduated with the best four year record in school history (36-4). Following college I got my first teaching and coaching job at Janesville CSD, where I taught 7-12 social studies and coached high school track. In the summer of 2004, I married the love of my life Dana, who I had been dating since high school. We bought a house near New Hartford and soon my first son, Jude was born (July 8, 2006). As my family was growing we decided to move to a larger house outside of Denver in the summer of 2007. In the fall of 2008 my second son Abe was born (Sept. 24th) and it was quickly apparent that raising multiple children was exponentially more challenging than just raising one. In my "spare time", I decided to go back to school and earn my masters degree in Social Sciences from UNI, and finished that degree in the summer of 2011. Then in the spring of 2009 I decided that it was time to move forward with my teaching career and applied for the job here in Jesup. The rest, as they say, is history.
