I am a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research. My academic research papers and nontechnical policy papers study labor economics, applied microeconomics, and public finance. I am also a fellow with the Labor Dynamics Institute and a special sworn status researcher with the U.S. Census Bureau. Before joining the American Enterprise Institute I was the manager of the New York Census Research Data Center and an economist with the Center for Economic Studies at the Census Bureau. Previously I was a member of the research group of Census' Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics Program. I began my career in the macroeconomics research group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. I am a graduate of Marquette University, and hold an M.A. from New York University and a Ph.D. from Cornell.
