About Me

EducationI graduated from Napa High School in 2006 and earned my B.A. in Human Biology at Stanford University in 2010, with a minor in Spanish. Following graduation, I stayed on to serve as a Core Course Associate in the Program in Human Biology, assisting in the teaching of the sophomore Core program. I returned to school at Stanford's Graduate School of Education (STEP), where I received my M.A. in Education and my California Teaching Credential.

Teaching Experience: I taught at Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California before my husband and I moved to southern California for his work. I am entering my fifth year at Westlake teaching Biology CP and English Support. I benefit from the fantastic support of a dedicated faculty at Westlake, the mentorship of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, and as a 2012 Fellow of the Knowles Science Teaching Foundation (KSTF), collaborate with other STEM teachers nationwide to inquire into and improve my teaching practice. I'm excited to be teaching CP Biology this year, after teaching both Honors and AP Biology at WHS previously.

Outside of School: I enjoy spending time with my husband exploring the outdoors, hiking, and running. I'm a huge fan Giants baseball fan (and sports fan in general) and will do almost anything for time to cook.
