I'm a health nut and food lover. I love to watch cooking shows, try healthy recipes, and visit new restaurants. When I'm not playing with my 4-year old son, I am probably reading/listening a good book or doing yoga. I love music and dancing and try to incorporate music in my classroom regularly.

Fun Facts

I was born on the island of Antigua, in the West Indies and moved to the states when I was 8 years old.  I lived in New York, Maryland, and Pennsylvania before moving to California.

My Teaching Philosophy

My beliefs on teaching are that:
  • EVERYONE can achieve. It doesn't matter where you are starting from, everyone has the ability to grow.
  • Students need to be encouraged to take risks, persevere when taking on challenges, not be afraid to struggle.
  • We must ask questions.  Learning is a life-long process. We learn more when we chase after the answers to what we don't know.
  • We can develop the idea that we can grow our minds' capacity to think and learn. This is known as a Growth Mindset
  • Every person deserves respect. It is important for students to learn to respect the rights and individuality of their classmates, teachers, and community members.
