Weekly Update- weeks of January 28 and February 4

Dear Families:


Here is an update of what we worked on the past two weeks:


Religion- read the parable of the prodigal son and acted out a story about forgiveness, learned what mortal, venial, and social sin are, played a game to review Chapter 15


Math- used tape diagrams to find a fraction of a number, learned how to multiply fractions by whole numbers, used models to multiply a fraction by a fraction, solved challenging word problems involving multiplying fractions and mixed numbers, played a few relay games


Science- finished the severe weather project using Book Creator, researched what makes up an ecosystem, watched a video and learned about the features of living things


ELA- practiced the skill of comparing stories in the same genre, continued practicing how to use irregular verbs and verb tenses correctly, wrote a literature response essay
