Interior Pics

This was my original goal for the kitchen.

We love the cherry floors that came with the house, but the previous owners had painted the walls red, and the beautiful floors got totally lost. We painted BM's Barharbor Beige (taken from one of the speckly browns in the countertops) and I love how the floors pop now!

I love having an island! Bar stools from C&B. We also switched out the lighting.

This was super easy DIY wall art. I bought blank artists canvases from Michaels, and wrapped each with a large sheet of fun patterned paper (from Paper Source).  Used that big clear packing tape to the adhere the paper to the canvas in the back.

We already had this table and chairs from our old condo. They work well enough for now.

Roman shades and coordinating panels from PB - Montgomery Stripe.

We have 4 floor length drapery panels, 2 on each side, to cover the slider to the back deck. H picked out this light fixture and installed it himself. Good boy!

Everyone needs a giant pear in their kitchen;)

To balance out all the white cabinets, we hung these white ledge shelves on the other side of the kitchen.

Here's the shelves updated for the holidays. I think I'll keep the bird print year round (cut out from a calendar). We know how I love birds:)

Good bones, just needed a paint job and new light fixtures. We love the silestone countertops!

Downstairs Bath

Here's the new bathroom after updating. Walls are "Nurture" by Behr. We are stuck with this green tile floor, so I figured painting the room a paler shade of green would help the tiles feel more cohesive/like a part of the room. FIL helped us put up the beadboard (from Lowes).

New light fixture and mirror. We waited for the semi-annual bath event from Restoration Hardware and were able to get the light and new hardwar for a decent price.

Found this shower curtain at the RH outlet and had these dragonfly shower rings from a long time ago (Christmas Tree Shop).

Swapped out the hideous roller shade for a bamboo shade from Lowes.

DIY wall art using an image that I cut out from a calendar, mounted onto some hand-made paper
and framed.

still to do: More wall art, something above the toilet (maybe shelves)

Family Room

update April 2009:
Swapped out some stuff on the black ledge shelves above our couch for a more spring look. Botanical print from a book I already had:) Put some wooden painted eggs I had lying around in this glass hurricane with some rafia. Wooden beachy star came back out (even though I used it for Christmas decor too!)

update February 2009:
Finally have some wall art above the loveseat! My mom and dad got these 6 botanicals for me for my birthday from Yankee Workshop.

Here's the new family room after updating. Walls are "Sweet Spring"  by Benjamin Moore. Scored this entertainment center at JCP. It's a legitimate PB knock-off, but for about 1/3 the price!!

Silhouette botanicals from West Elm.

Gasp! Area rug on top of regular rug!! Uh oh. Well, I like it! Helps break up the space and adds color the floor.
I think these black ledge shelves are too small for that big wall, but for now they will do until I think of something else to put there!

Phew! Finally have some stuff on that black end table (see above)! Lamp from Target for cheap...like $14.99!

We also found a spot for the signature mat from our wedding:) And my complete hard-back set of Harry Potter!!!

still to do:
New carpet, get plantation shutters, finish decorating EC.

Living Room

update March 2008:
New mantle decor that is not so seasonal:) Scored these 2 mirrored frames at HomeGoods and DIYed the silhouette art based on prints from West Elm and This Young House.

update October 2008:
New paint! Couldn't stand that yellow anymore. This is BM's Smokey Taupe, love it!

This is with the old paint color, but a good close-up of the infamous Michaes mirrors. They are a total C&B Dubois mirror knock-off! Botanicals on either side are from HomeGoods.

New mantle for winter 2009!

New throw pillows on the leather chairs to match the wall color. From HomeGoods!!

This is the old wall color too (and Christmas '08 mantle, ha!), but will give you an idea of the room layout.

I love changing out the stuff on my mantle as the seasons change, or as I get bored! Here's some shots of how it has looked in the past:

still to do: window treatments, remove carpet and put down hardwood, more wall art

Dining Room

update November 2008:
We finally installed a new light fixture in the DR. This is the Grant Chandelier from PB.

Also added some wall art. These are pics that I printed and framed from my recent trip to Rome.

Finally, some wall art! Found this print on art.com and for some reason had to have it (Birch Silhouette).

New paint! Yay! We chose 2 soft cool grays (Valspar's Polar Star and Gravity) and had them color matched by BM.

still to do: More wall art, an area rug, window treatments, find or buy a buffet/hutch, 2 fabric parsons chairs for the ends of the table, maybe redo floors to match the cherry in the rest of the downstairs? Phew, that's alot to do!

Master Bedroom

update October 2008:
Added this photo collage above our bed. These are all 11 x 14" prints from Shutterfly of our various vacations, adventures, etc. I wanted to take advantage of our high ceilings and do something dramatic!

Finally find some wall art that I liked! Got these great prints at HomeGoods.

still to do: Window treatments, bedside table lamps, more wall art.

Guest Bedroom

update summer 2007:
New paint! This is BM's Taupetone. Got these cool butterfly prints at HomeGoods:)

Stole the idea for these botanical drawings from PB. I used some leaf clip art I had, printed it on chartreuse green paper from Paper Source and then framed them.

This is the Dolce Lounge Chair from Target. Its not the most comfortable thing in the world (the proportions are kinda weird), but it works for now and I thought it would be a good spot for guests to put their bags. Have since added a floor lamp in oil-rubbed bronze also from Target. Need to take a new pic:)

I had a round mirror that was the perfect shape for this room, but it was black and I didn't think that color would work in here. So I repainted it using some copper metallic paint from Michaels. Much better!

Wow, the previous owners must have loved blue! This was a little too bright for me though.

still to do: Window treatments, more wall art

Random Spaces

Here's our 2 story entryway with the Established Sign we had custom made by Jill of Offwoodland Lane. (Love her, but sadly I think she isn't taking new business for awhile.)
