Julie Paolini: I have been a teacher for more than 30 years, most of my career spent working with students with special needs. My undergraduate degree was in LD/BD from Ohio.I added a few classes in Pennsylvania and also got my SH credential.  I have two Master degrees, one as a Reading specialist and one in Administration. My California credentials are Learning Handicapped, Severely Handicapped, Multiple Subject, and Reading Specialist. I also have Resource Specialist certification and my CLAD certification. I grew up back east in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. I worked with autistic and developmentally delayed students at Zonta Children's Center which is now called Achieve when I moved to California. When I became a mom, I worked as a teacher in general education second and third grades in the Berryessa District. For eight years I have worked as a resource specialist in the Saratoga district. And for the last 3 years I have been at Foothill with the SDC class. While my children were growing up, we lived overseas in Japan and Malaysia for eight years. It was a great experience. My husband, Steve, and I have been married for 27 years. I have two wonderful children, Robbie who is in graduate school at Carnegie Melon in Pennsylvania and Cathryn who is a junior at CSU Channel Islands near Ventura. We live in Saratoga so my children attended Argonaut, Redwood and then Saratoga High.I am very excited to be starting my third year at Foothill and look forward to working with the students, staff and parents of Room 7 as well as continued                                                            collaboration with the general education teachers in meeting our students' needs.

I enjoyed living in other countries and learning about different people and cultures. I think it has made me a very well rounded person. I have always loved working with children. I am looking forward to another fun year in room 7.
