Today: Module 3 Post Assessment
Today: Throughout Module 3 you have been dealing with the topic of change. In this post assessment you will be looking at that concept and how it might help you to improve your own community.
The Task:
Every community has problems that need to be solved. Whether it is your school community or your local community, something can be improved to create positive change. Your task is to create a proposal in which you advocate for an improvement that will benefit the community. Use the information from your reading to guide you in demonstrating how personal “virtues” lead to improving society. As you work on this assessment you should consider Franklin’s daily accounting of his virtues, his civic contribution to Philadelphia, and his participation in the writing of the Declaration of Independence. Likewise, you should consider the Declaration of Independence in its entirety.
Remember to look back the Declaration of Independence and the works of Benjamin Franklin as you think about what change you would like to bring about in a community that you belong to. You can use the prezi above to review some of Franklin's ideas as you get started.
Today: Module 3 Post Assessment
For this post assessment you will be creating a presentation. You can use PowerPoint or Prezi, but you can also use Google Slides. If you use Google Slides, make sure you SHARE the presentation with your teacher by entering his/her email address into the SHARE link. This address can be found on the front page of the course under Instructor Information.
After you complete your Prezi or PowerPoint, you are to write a reflection on your creative process. In a single, well-written paragraph reflect on how the writings of Franklin and the founding fathers influenced your thinking in defining your problem and recommending your solution.
When thinking about how you might inspire change take a moment to watch this great TED Talk on how to start a movement. It is a fun reminder that we can all bring about "the change we want to see in the world."
