Picture of the Month

In 6th grade science we study these four areas: Life, Earth, Physical, and Space and Technology.
Students work in groups of four to five students for our lab activities.
Keeping a "lab notebook" is an important way for students to earn points.

Our communications book is used as a reference. During the first semester we study the basic parts of speech and sentence structure. The second semester includes more writing experiences and students learn the 6 + 1 Traits of writing: Ideas, Organization, Voice, Word Choice, Sentence Fluency, Conventions(grammar) and the "plus one" is Presentation.

The stories in our reading book are captivating! There are a variety of stories from fiction to fables to first person narratives, biographies and poems. Included in the various sections are nonfiction works to help students not only improve their MCA scores, but also to become more critical readers.
