Welcome to Mrs. Frazier's Class Website
  • Week of November 28th
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.  We have three weeks and two days before the Christmas break.  We're going to try and make everyday count.
This week fourth grade will be reading the story How Tia Lola Came to Stay.  Each day students will do some close reading to answer text dependent questions.  The purpose is draw on specific details from the text to describe characters, settings and other elements of fiction.  In science we will continue to learn about different types of energy.
Fifth grade will be learning to draw on information from multiple print or digital sources, demonstrating the ability to locate an answer to a question quickly or to solve a problem efficiently.  This week the problem or challenge students will be working on is becoming a "stock market investor".  They have formed investment companies and are working to earn their company license.  In science we will discussing weather fronts and some additional weather tools.
It's going to be a great week!

  • Week of November 21st
It's a short week!  Happy Thanksgiving.  Remember students do not attend Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.  This week we will be reading, watching and listening to different version of the story Stone Soup.  We will actually be making stone soup on Tuesday.  We hope that sharing a meal we made together and sharing some "Thankful" letters will bring us all together in a spirit of goodwill for the holiday.  I am thankful for each and every student and the wonderful, unique personalities they bring with them.  Life is Good!!
