  • 4th Grade Projects
Fourth grade has started an extra credit project called "The Million Dollar Project"  It's a self-directed webquest.  I am giving them time in class, but some asked if they could work on the project at home.  The answer is yes.  So, if possible, please allow them to work on it.  The link is HERE.  Fourth grade is also working toward learning a couple of measurement songs.  If students learn the songs well enough, we are going to produce a music video.  The songs can be found on the homework page.  So, if possible, please allow students to download the songs so they can listen at home.  Thank you!!

  • Week of March 5th
We are in the long stretch now.  Progress reports were in Friday folders.  I hope you saw them.  Please remember to return Friday folders on Monday.  This week both grades will begin learning about measurement and how to convert between units, both standard and metric.  Fourth grade only converts units from a larger unit to a smaller unit.  Fifth grade must convert from smaller to larger and larger to smaller in multi-step problems.  We will be practicing measurement for a couple of weeks.  We will also continue to review fractions and all operations.
In science 4th grade began a unit on rocks and minerals and 5th grade will continue with body systems.
    Upcoming Dates:
March 7th - Spring Pictures (class pictures)
March 14th - 5th grade goes to the symphony
March 23rd - 5th grade science quarterly test
March 27th - Reading quarterly tests
March 28th - Math quarterly tests
    March 29th - Early Dismissal
    March 30th - Holiday
April 2nd through the 6th - Spring Break

  • Media Festival Preparations
I did not realize media festival entries are due by Friday, March 9th.  I had planned some days this month for students to stay after school and work on projects.  However, with the looming due date, those dates will no longer work.  So, if any student wants to stay after school Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday this week until 3:30, they are welcome.  I just ask they have a note saying they can stay and who will be picking them up at 3:30.
