2016 Henry R. Giaguque Vermont Elementary School Principal of the Year Award

I was humbled and honored by the Vermont Principals Association as a result of the TVES staff and school communities incredibly heart felt nomination.  Thank you for the privilege of serving the Twin Valley Schools.

 Twin Valley Schools are:
"Growing innovators      who will change the      world."

New at TVES:

TVES will be using a content specialist model. In grades 1&2 and 3&4 there will be two humanities teachers, 1 math teacher and 1 science teacher. PreK and K will continue with one teacher per class teaching all subjects.  In 5th grade one teacher will teach humanities and the other math and science.

• Every teacher will be a teacher of social emotional learning. We will use The Zones of Regulation, Responsive Classroom, Second Step and Mind Up as the basis for our instruction.

• Personalized Learning Plans will continue to be developed for each child and will be front and center as students lead their own conferences this year.

• Outdoor learning is important at TVES.  PreK, K spend a half day outside learning every week and all science teachers work to include outdoor learning in their curriculum throughout the year.
