About Mrs. Erickson

My name is Mrs. Erickson and I have the pleasure of working as your child's fourth grade teacher this year (or 5th grade science teacher or 8th grade broadcasting teacher in some cases)! My husband and I moved from Michigan to Orangeburg, South Carolina in the summer of 2008 to teach. In 2011, we gave up our jobs and headed back to Manistique. We are so happy to be back with family and friends (and we don't miss the heat either!)  Most exciting is that we are expecting our first child this November! We just can't wait for her to get here! We feel extremely blessed to be able to work at such a great school, and to be able to work here together!
As far as my credentials go, I have a bachelor's degree in elementary education with a focus in social studies from Baker College of Owosso. I graduated Summa Cum Laude, and was listed as one of only six students from my graduating class in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. I am currently working on my master's degree in educational technology through Michigan State University (I should be done in summer 2014). This year also marks my sixth year as a teacher! I can hardly believe it, and actually feel kind of old when I think about all the students that I've taught!

I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your child for the 2013-2014 school year. If you have any questions or concerns at any time, email is the best way to reach me, but also feel free to stop into the classroom, send in a note, or give me a phone call.
