I grew up in Wisconsin but I knew from an early age that I wanted to live, work and raise a family in Montana. So to be doing that is a dream come true for me.
I moved here in 1996 and I do not plan on leaving anytime soon.
At the University of Montana I received a bachelor degree in Wildlife Biology in 2000 and then returned to earn my teaching licensure in 2005 as well as another bachelor degree in Biology. In 2012 I received a Masters degree in Science Education.
I have 11 years of wildlife biology field experience. I worked on a lynx and snowshoe hare study for three seasons in Seeley Lake, MT and then I have worked for 6 years (6 month seasonally) as a wildlife biological technician for the Missoula Bureau of Land Management (BLM). While working with the BLM I created many school presentations on several different animals and presented them to over 10 rural schools in Montana. Being able to teach at Potomac School has been a great experience.
