November 7, 2011, and Until School Starts Again

Dear Parents and Students:

Now that school has started, you do not need to do e-learning for November 9-14 unless you have not yet returned to school because of flooding or you are out sick.  If you did not complete the e-learning from Oct. 26-Nov. 8, you may use these paces to complete the e-learning assignments you did not do.  All of them are being graded in class the next two days.

You will now find HERE all of the learning assignments from October 26th through November 8th.  There are assignments for November 9- November 14th for those who are still out for flooding.  We will not send additional e-learning unless school gets cancelled again.

You will see that I have divided the work into one document each day.  You will see the E-learning for next week listed as E-Learning, Monday, November 7, 2011, etc.  It is best to hit download instead of view.  Using Download allows you to go directly to the links you will need for the e-learning.

Again, I am grateful that we can provide e-learning, but I do miss all of my students!

We are grateful to provide online E learning for your children during this when they are at home.  I have attached the four Assignment sheets.  If you click HERE, you may view it easily.  You will find the assignment sheet for the week of October 26-28 and the Legend Cover sample.  This is just a sample to use when you make the booklet.  You don't need to print it, just make something similar for the booklet cover.  You will also find the assignment sheet for the week of October 31- November 4th with the life cycle of the plant sheet, which you will need to reference for science.

Please do not send these assignments through the email.  The students should only send a short report as instructed on Friday, October 28th, and on Wednesday, November 2nd.  Students should bring back the books and all of the assignments on November 7th when we return to school.

Welcome to 3C!

I'm very excited about this year in third grade.  The teachers have been working together throughout the summer to prepare a very enjoyable year where you will learn all about our world as you visit places through stories.  In science, we have a year packed with hands-on activities to keep you learning about living things, the environment, and matter.  We will even become famous inventors and unveil our new products at this year's World Fair.

I'm very glad that you are in my class.  In the first weeks of school, we will learn how to work together well.  Our classroom is full of visitors and speakers, and I love to have well managed students who take charge of their learning.

We will be learning as we use many forms of technology!  Students will even be preparing a class newsletter! Let's get started!
