we are starting our Black History Month Biographical Reports. Therefore, start thinking who you will enjoy researching and writing a Biography Sketch.

Oh it is so COOLLLD!!  We are heading to report cards, State Science test, math Writing, oh this can make your head swim!  We are learning test taking skills, how to prep for the test and review  so we are ready! Now Wednesday through Friday are minimum days so plan to pick up your kids early.  

Oh Yeah Thursday is the Best Pancake Ever Writing and Cooking Contest.

Hello Out There!   You shall notice the daily assignments are going 
to be shorter, 15-20 minutes.  The kids have two major assignment due on January the 25th and February the 2nd.  I have posted the assignments on the Announcement page.  The Cell & The Best Pancake Contest Ever.
So they have plenty to do, but they have to plan out and work
daily on their projects!  Or ELSE! Else what? You shall find you have waited the night before to tell mommy or daddy, hey my Pancake assignment is tomorrow.

Winter Holiday Assignments

       Have an enjoyable Winter Break & a Merry Christmas!  I have provided a
Mid-Winter Homework packet for each student.  It's purpose serves to review
what we have learned and to encourage the kids to read and journal. 
I highly recommend to sign up for a Khan Academy Account on-line.  It's free
and provides tutoring videos, practice quizzes and helps to teach relevant Math and test taking skills.  
We return to school on Monday, January 8, 2018.  See Ya Next Year!

This week we are introducing various strategies for multiplying fractions.  Please review with your child the Math Letter sent home for you to read and return when you are finished.  We are also working on our Reading Comprehension & Writing Skills.  The kids are reading and outlining short stories & articles, identifying the Author's Purpose (Thesis / Main Idea) and then identify 2-3 supportive details for each paragraph. I hope you all had a Warm and family filled Thanksgiving creating new and fond memories.  We are back and running heading into a new year.  Please encourage your child to read various books and stories that will build their brain power, reading and writing skills as well.  If you need a copy of daily assignments click next to the Blue W below.

Note make sure you check & initial your child's homework everyday.  I have provided a planner for each one to record daily assignments.

Four more days until until our little Thanksgiving Break Next Week!
Be sure to get plenty of rest and bring a healthy snack each day.  We are testing
almost everyday this week, State and School testing is a check in to see how well
you are doing and what help you need in your schooling. Click on the Blue W below to get a copy of daily assignments.
Don't forget,  
Friday is Turkey Bingo in which you can when a Turkey for you family.  All the kids in 4th-6th grade participate so find a partner and join the fun!
