Dr. Mohammad Rezaul Karim is currently working as Dean, School of Science and Engineering (SSE) and Professor and Head, Dept. of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) in Chittagong Independent University (CIU), Bangladesh. Dr. Karim received B. Sc. (1998), M. Sc. (2009) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from KUET and BUET, respectively and received Ph.D (2015) in Photonics from City University of London, UK. He was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow from 2017 to 2018 at Photonics Research Center (PRC) in the University of Malaya (UM), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He initially joined Bangladesh Telecom Ltd. as a System Engineer in 2000 and later joined as a Lecturer in the Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering in University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) in 2004 where he became Associate Professor in 2011. His research interests include nonlinear optics and modeling of nonlinear photonic devices for broadband supercontinuum generation by optimizing optical planar waveguides and microstructured fibers, based on non-silica optical glasses.
