Follow the links that guide you to the setting up your environment page and learning how to code page.
1. You must come in with some experience!!
2. You can succeed, coming in with no prior experience, but the track record for these students is fairly poor.
3. Ask around for tips and ideas from people who have taken the class. You will get a variety of info, so consider the source :)
4. Get started. Even if you only have 15 minutes to do some trouble-shooting or can only write a few lines of code... do something!!
5. Did I mention ... DO SOMETHING!!!! You learn to code by doing. Try stuff. Make mistakes! It is a cliche, but we tend to remember the lessons and concepts when we find our mistakes and figure out how to solve them. This is a bit more dangerous if you are learning to do a flip on your bike, but you won't learn how to do that flip until you try! In computer science, the mistakes aren't as physically traumatic, but the lessons learned in fixing mistakes pay off huge dividends!
