This will be my 21st year at CMS teaching mathematics to 7th and 8th grade students. Before coming to Cumberland, I taught high school math for 6 years prior. Overall, this will be my 27th year in public education!
I have a great responsibility here at CMS as I teach all 7th and 8th grade regular education students mathematics.
I am married to my wife Deb, and we have a son Rece. We also have a black lab dog named Sosa. We love to travel to different cities around the United States. We love going to baseball stadiums around the country and learning about each cities history during our visit. I like to golf, trap shoot, and bowl with my friends. I also enjoy hunting, fishing, boating and spending time in the outdoors. I am a do-it-yourself guy and usual have a project I am working on at home.
I decided to be a teacher because I enjoy helping students learn. There is great reward when students gain understanding of challenging math concepts through activities that allow them to explore and use prior knowledge to advance their understanding. Students will be expected to learn from each other, respect each other, and appreciate each others differences in my classroom.
CMS students are great kids and I am looking forward to a great year!
