Hello Everyone,
My first and last class that I will miss for the year. Who has ZERO absences in my class? If you do, you deserve extra credit!
Can someone lead prayer before starting class? If no one volunteers, hopefully Mr. Ford can do it.
THANKS.
We are diving deeper into the word of Trigonometry. You are a step away from Calculus. The chapter is called Analytical Trigonometry because we are further analyzing expressions and equations.
Section 5.1 was about being able to employ the TFIs.
Section 5.2 was about being able to simplify/proving TFIs.
Section 5.3 will be about SOLVING TFIs.
Section 5.4 will be about employing trigonometric formulas to solve equations.
Section 5.5 will be about employing trigonometric formulas to solve equations.
PART 1 - SIMPLIFYING AND PROVING TFIs.
Take a look at your homework due today, particularly 5.1. You will repeat the draft process as earlier in the week. Mr. Ford will draw names and pick the order of the draft. Unlike the last draft, we will do it correctly this time. Gavin was correct about the draft order. It will go 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 this time. You have 10 minutes before the draft begins and 1 minute per round. The winner will be the FTI that are used the most for 5.1 homework due. Winning group will earn automatic 89% on their next quiz. If a group has already won, and they win AGAIN, then they will earn 100% on the next quiz. YOUR TIME START NOW.
10 Minutes Later - I will need a person from the 5 person team to serve as HOST for the game.
Host: Please run the draft as Bryant and Bobby did last class with white boards involved. Please keep track of points as students go through the problems as Bobby did last class.
Mr. Ford will hand out the homework for 5.1 (45-68) odds in the Old Book. The problems will decide who is the winner of the game. Go through them and figure out which TFI's were used in the problems.
20 Minutes Later - Hopefully you finished the game and took a break. If the game is still going after 30 minutes, the winner is declared at 30 minutes. Please take a picture of the results.
Take a 5 minute break.
5 Minutes Later
PART 2 - SOLVING TRIGONOMETRIC EQUATIONS.
The following work will be submitted through Google Classroom by the time the class ends.
You will visit the following links. Read and attempt the problems.
Solving Trigonometric Equations
10 Minutes Later - You will complete problems NB 5.3 (5 - 24) Evens You can check the answers from my book which is on my desk.
25 Minutes Later - Please check your work and answers BEFORE submitting. The teacher's edition will be on my desk.
Submit!
Good job everyone. Have a good weekend.
