Pre-Calculus: Pre-Calculus is designed to provide a deeper understanding of the principles of Algebra II as a foundation for higher mathematics. Emphasis will be placed on expanding the student’s knowledge of functions and the corresponding inverse functions. Analytic and graphical methods will be used to solve applications involving both algebraic and transcendental functions. The last segment of the course will include advanced applications of trigonometry, powers and roots of complex numbers, polar coordinates and polar equations, the binomial theorem, and the basic elements of probability theory. If time permits, the students will be introduced to matrix theory, sequences and series.
