Unit Six Preparation of Organic Compounds

We know how to name compounds, we understand the general principles behind organic reactions. We also understand the general reaction mechanisms. We are now going to put it all together. We are going to revisit alcohols, ethers, alkenes, alkynes, carboxylic acids, aldehydes, ketones, and amines. We will be learning about the preparation of each, and the general reactions each undergoes. Some important topics included will be oxidation and reduction, as well as acid base reactions. This should be a fun and challenging final unit to our study of organic chemistry.
