Kinematics

Digital Book

During this unit we will learn how to distinguish between vector and scalar quantities. We will learn the difference between distance and displacement, velocity and speed, and how to graph motion. We will learn how to look at a graph and use the graph to tell the story of the motion of the object. Was it speeding up, slowing down, going away, coming towards the origin, traveling at a constant velocity, or not moving? We will be able to answer all questions and know all things about velocity. Also in this lesson we will explore linear acceleration. We will apply what we know about position, velocity, and graphing to a new concept. We will also begin to look at gravity and what it causes objects to do during free fall.
