Why Study Chemistry? What is Matter? How are atoms combined? How do elements become compounds? These questions are only a sample of the many areas of the chemical world we will be addressing in this class in concert with the New Hampshire DOE Competencies. Chemistry is a CENTRAL science. It is found in nearly every science that you will study. Understanding the key principles of how atoms and molecules interact will help the science student be more prepared to make informed decisions in a world where understanding science has become essential for being an educated, responsible citizen.
