AWARDS:
Medals will be awarded for the top three individual events and relay teams at the varsity level. Ribbons
will be awarded for the top three individual events and relay teams at the junior varsity level.

Varsity Field Events will consist of 3 trials in the prelims. Top 6 will be called back for 3 final trials. Participants must have a legal jump /throw in the prelims to make the finals. JV will be 4 attempts.
High Jump starts at 4’10” for boys and 4’4” for girls and will move up 2” until 4’8” and 5’8”

Tulip Time Coed Relays

April 26, 2018


Time: Field events will begin at 5:00 (Finals). Running events will begin at 5:15 (Finals).

Please check-in at middle press box to receive your packet upon arrival.


Teams: Boys: Centerville, Mt. Pleasant, Newton, Pella Christian, SEP, Pella, Pella JV

Girls: Centerville, Mt. Pleasant, Newton, Oskaloosa, Ottumwa, PC, Pella, Pella JV


Field Sites: High Jump:  North end zone, all-weather track – no marking tape

Throwing: North of stadium next to softball field

Long Jump: Outside the fence, south of the track, all weather track – no marking tape


Bus Parking: Buses may want to drop off at Stadium then park at the middle school north of the Stadium. Please do not park in the main lot between stadium and school.


Camps: Outside the fenced track area, NO team camps on the infield. Participants and event workers only inside the fence area of the track.Notices: NO SUNFLOWER SEEDS, NO MARKING TAPE, 3/16 pyramid spikes only allowed inside or on the track/runways. USE CHALK or TENNIS BALLS.  Athletes are to stay out of the infield unless checking in with the Clerk. Coaches are to remain in the bleachers or outside the fence.

Check-in: Athletes check-in on the infield turf near the 50 yard line. ALL individual runners must have

a hip number on their LEFT hip. The last runner of relay team must wear a hip number.

Scoring: Individual: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 Relays: 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1

Awards: Team trophy will be award to the team champion and runner-up. Medals for 1st-3rd individually.

Results: Results will be e-mailed to coaches and AD’s at the end of the night.

Concessions: Will be available all night with restrooms next door – both in NW corner of stadium

 Shot Put/Discus: Concrete circle located on the practice football field. (On top of the hill east of the track) 4 throws, no finals.
 Long Jump: All weather runway on the east side of the practice field. 4 jumps-no finals-with the places determined by the best jump.
 High Jump: Held on the all weather surface at the south end of the football field. Opening height –Boys 5’4” Girls 4’2”.

Medals will be given for the first three place winners.

The Mediapolis track is located on the west side of the elementary building. Access to the track is on the north side of the elementary. Bus parking is available in the west parking lot. I have attached a facilities picture for reference.
MAXIMUM SPIKE LENGTH IS ONE-EIGHTH INCH.
Each school will be allowed two individual running and field events, one entry per relay.  Exceptions are unlimited entries in 3200, 3000, 1600 and 1500 run.
Field Events: All events are finals. Four attempts will be given in the Shot, Discus, and
the Long Jump.
Opening height in the High Jump will be 4’2” for girls and 5’2” for boys.
Admission: $5 – Adults $3 – Students

Buses will drop athletes off at the NE side of the school by the athletic entrance sign and then park parallel on Ramsey Street in front of the baseball and football practice fields.
