Our beautiful Moyra passed away peacefully on February 19 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, after a tragic automobile accident on February 12, 2018. While we are heartbroken, we will find comfort in forever remembering how beautiful and talented she was. We will remember her smiles and laughter and of course her beautiful dance performances, her gentle care of her 4-H animals, and her passion for her friends. We will all smile when we remember her “indescribable” humor and some of those funny faces she often showed those closest to her. We will cherish the love she showed us and remember how much she adored her brother Aiden. We will also draw strength and healing in knowing how much of a positive impact she had on so many people, like the young dancers at Style.

We would sincerely like to thank all of our family and friends for the support given to us during this difficult period, including the outpouring of love and memories that have been shared along with the monetary support that has allowed for the creation of the Moyra McCain Memorial Fund.

To honor this gracious gift we have formed the Moyra McCain Memorial Foundation with the sole purpose of promoting Moyra's passions in our community. These passions include Friends, Fun, 4-H, and of course Dance!

Our Mission:

The Mission of the Moyra McCain Memorial Foundation is to honor Moyra’s memory by making a positive impact on

local youth throughout our community. We do so by promoting a love for Moyra's passions which include fun, friends,

4-H, and of course dance.

Our Impact:

The Moyra McCain Memorial foundation provides youth in our community with opportunities to discover their own passions for life through the promotion of Moyra's passions for dance and 4H. We have accomplished this by proudly providing multiple scholarships to youth, along with sponsoring multiple dance and 4-H competitions, awards, and events. We have led community based initiatives including family activity booths at the Franklin Fall Festival, Dancers Against Cancer fundraisers, 4H Spark Clubs, school based engagement and promotional programs which introduce all students to the benefits of dance and 4-H, along with community assistance programs such as the current COVID 19 Diaper Drive.  The foundations defining event is our annual  Rock Around the Block. This event brings community participants of all ages together with dance choreography provided by various local studios and a one mile path around town, lovingly named Moyra’s Mile, where we all get to show off our new moves.  While busting a groove, the participants also distribute freshly decorated purple and yellow rocks  with kind words and inspirational messages, around town in order to lift the spirits of others who might find them.  It is a heartwarming event that allows us to continue making an impact on our community throughout the year.
