Arm Recovery After Stroke

Picture of Premotor Study
This study is being conducted to better understand the natural history of stroke and its causes and treatments.  To accomplish this, we will record your reaching movement patterns and use Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), a painless, non-invasive, investigational test of brain function, to temporarily affect specific brain areas. We will ask you to get an MRI to guide where we place the TMS, but if you are unwilling or unable to have the MRI, you will still be allowed to participate in the study.

We are looking for patients who have had a stroke more than 6 months ago and have weakness in the stroke affected arm. We also welcome the participation of nondisabled adults for collecting age-matched control values. Reimbursement will be provided.
