We are in the middle of the rain season in Cambodia. Mondulkiri has a lot of rain currently. The road from Phnom Penh is very muddy and difficult. But for dirt bike adventurers it is the best time of the year. It is the best time to visit Mondulkiri currently if you are into dirt biking and are willing to get muddy. Your motor bike skill needs to be very high also. Since the road in Mondulkiri is not only muddy but the dirt clay is also very slippery. You will definitely fall of your bike so a proficient skill on your dirt bike is required.

Tour itinerary

Day 1

- 7:30am: Meet at the Green House for breakfast

- 8:00am: We hit the road and drive 100km towards Koh Neak. During this drive you will see:

- 9:30am: We arrive in Pu Chri village and you can see different farms, local people’s houses and way of living.

- 10:30am: We arrive in Dei Ey village and visit the 100 year old village (this is WWF community home stay location)

- 11:30am: We stop in the middle of the jungle and have lunch.

- 12:30pm: We drive through the Mondulkiri Protected Area, which is home to lots of different species of wildlife and birds.

- 2:00pm: We arrive at O`Chaba river, a beautiful spot where you can take a rest, have a swim and relax from the drive through the jungle.

- 3:00pm: We arrive in Koh Neak, Srae Chong village, where you will stay for the rest of the day and for the night.

- 5:00pm: Bird watching during sunset on a small boat on the lake close to the village.

- 6:00pm: Dinner with the local people and we organize a small party where you can try local rice wine.

Day 2

- 7:30am: Local breakfast

- 8:00am: We hit the road and drive 120km from Koh Neak to Banlung: On the way, you will experience the following:

- 8:30am: We arrive in Sre Huy village, where you can see the big reservoir made during the Khmer Rouge regime.

- 11:30am: After driving through typical Mondulkiri dry forest, we arrive in Chi Miet village, where we have lunch.

- 1:00pm: We put our bikes on a small boat and drive on the Srepok river to Kan San village. From there we drive off road through the protected forest, where you can hopefully spot some of Cambodia’s most endangered animals.

- 2:00pm: We arrive in Bokeo village, which is famous for its gem stones. You can visit the local school and see some rubber plantations. In this village, there are different indigenous groups, like the Kreung, Kuoy and Jarai etc., and you can see their different house architectures.

- 4:00pm: Arrival in Banlung
