HAMPs are the simplest possible homemade blaster, but they shouldn't be underestimated at short to medium range.  The manual piston on a hoppered HAMPs combines semiautomatic fire with adjustable power output (Push the piston as hard as you want--softer for mercy or indirect fire at close range, harder to reach faraway targets) up to ranges that beat any mass-manufactured blaster on the market.  The manual piston does compromise accuracy, but the two-foot magazine (replaceable with a 1/2" PVC magazine of ANY length) gives you more ammo capacity than any other style of blaster.  MHA HAMPs are equipped with an internal check valve, a hopper, a two-foot clear-PVC magazine, and a schedule 80 1/2" PVC barrel.

The length of the included barrel is limited by the length of the box it's packed in--If you need more power, try replacing the barrel with a longer one.  Schedule 80 1/2" PVC is available at many hardware stores and can be ordered online from vendors like www.mcmaster.com
