Mosstack

Mosstack is short of Mikko's Open Source Stacker for astronomical images, my project of creating an open alternative to programs such as DeepSkyStacker or AstroSurf Iris. This page will include a manual, other instructions and probably some kind of comparison of different stacking software.

Features:

  • Command line interface. Everything can be controlled via command line so you can automate the process with scripts
  • Graphical user interface with PyQt4
  • Basic calibrating and stacking procedure
    • Calibrating (bias, flat and dark)
    • Debayering
    • Registering and aligning
    • Stacking
  • Partial multithreading (works in some parts of process)

Download and install

Source and some distribution packages in BitBucket.
PPA for Ubuntu: pyastrostack
