STREET ACCIDENT AT LEIGH
On Saturday afternoon, between five and six o'clock, a girl named Ellen Mort, age 13, daughter of Ralph Mort, Guest street, Bedford
met with a serious accident while in Bradshawgate, Leigh. She was in charge of a perambulator containing a child eight weeks old
When near the Albion Hill a horse, which belonged to a Wigan butcher who has a stall in the Market place, took fright, and springing on the
footpath knocked down the girl and upset the perambulator, which was badly damaged. Strange to say the infant was unhurt, but the girl was badly
hurt about the head and legs. She was caried home, and Dr King is attending her. The shafts of the trap to which the horse was attached were broken
